Andreja Istenič Starčič holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. from University of Ljubljana. Andreja is employed at University of Primorska, Slovenia & University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Andreja is Honorary Fellow at Macquarie University Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Andreja is professor of didactics and is teaching Educational technology, Learning environments, ICT assisted learning for people with special needs, ICT in health care, Media education, Contemporary learning theories, Innovation and creative production of multimedia contents. Her research interests include ICT media and communication, Social interaction, Usability, Innovative user interface concepts supporting diverse user groups (disabled, personality traits, cognitive styles), Cognitive, social, affective/emotional aspects of human interactions with ICT artefacts and hyper medial knowledge spaces, Virtual simulations and games, Individual and social aspects of professional learning and work identities, Workplace learning and professional subjectivities, Teacher education. She has published conference and journal papers and had invited chapters in books. She edited scientific monographs.
Andreja is editor of iJET – International journal: emerging technologies in learning and has been editor of BJET - British Journal of Educational technology. She a member of editorial boards TOJET – The Turkish Online Journal of Education Technology, iJAC- International journal of advanced corporate learning and editor of a special virtual issue of BJET – British Journal of Educational Technology: ICT-Supported Learning and Special Educational Needs: A Special Virtual Issue
She is one of funding convenors of EERA – European educational research association network Didactics.

She was a coordinator of national and European projects. Latest projects: ENABLE network of ICT supported learning for disabled people (2011-2014),
RAZKORAK - Longitudinal study in competence potential of university graduates and a gap between graduates’ competences and labour market requirements in technology, education and health (2011-2014).
